Blog part three, and we're going to take a look at the ratings that Hellcats had for this weeks episode. Two million viewers, which amounted to mediocre ratings, adults 18-49 .9, adults 18-34 1.0 and women 18-34 was slightly higher at a 1.4. Among other shows on Wednesday night, Hellcats was by far the lowest, but America's Next Top Model. Among shows in the same time slot at 9 p.m. Hellcats was put to shame, with the top rated show being Modern Family scoring a 4.7 and had 11 million viewers.
According to the Nielson website, Hellcats is more likely to be renewed then canceled by May 2011, which is great for the program, but personally I gave up with it. I tried watching the first three episodes, and the monotony of the show just killed me, but I'm not really the audience. I guess the sad thing is is that I picked this show because I thought it would be canceled quickly and now it's looking like it will be renewed. That kids, is what we call irony! Hellcats hasn't cracked the top 25 yet, and I don't expect it to, but the CW may have found themselves a cult following with the show.

If the show has a cult following, good for it. After all, what can we expect from the CW?? Maybe the show's devotees will keep it on the air and it will wallow in obscurity for a few seasons. Goodluck!
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised this show has any sort of a following. I thought the "Bring It On" days were dead, I guess not. I generally just feel bad for you every time we post blogs Sam because you have to follow this steaming pile. Sadly I think all that the CW had to do to make this a certified hit is to make the cheerleaders vampires. Oh the world we live in.
